Addiction & Recovery through a Choice Theory® (CT) Lens
If you are tired of going around in circles with clients who are addicted, try applying CT to the challenge. CT provides a pathway to help counselors and addicts both understand the origin of addiction and a path to living a life clean and sober.
In this course, participants will learn skills for building self-esteem. There will be a general overview of understanding ways to acknowledge your strengths and areas to improve. Participants will take assessments and learn how to use the outcomes for their next steps. They will also learn how to overcome negative thinking and set a realistic plan for themselves.
Choice Theory® Certification (CT)
This process was created for helping professionals and educators to help them work more effectively with their clients and students. With the addition of the relationship habits everyday people have found benefit in CT certification — parents, couples, business leaders, religious leaders, and anyone interested in creating a more effective life. Certification in CT is a five-step process: Basic Training, Basic Practicum, Advanced Training, Advanced Practicum, and Certification. Businesses, organizations, and schools can save money by bringing us to their place of work to train up to 16 people at a time.
Anger: It is a Choice
Most people believe that anger is an emotion that just overcomes them and causes them to behave in ways that they later regret. This workshop helps you understand that anger is a choice that people make, often subconsciously, in order to help them get what they want in that moment. You can learn to choose differently by first becoming aware of the choice and then making a plan to do something more effective to get what you want in a way that doesn’t harm others and damage your relationships.
Crisis Intervention Strategies: S.C.R.E.A.M (What to do when all else fails)
Participants will understand specific steps to manage the emotional energy which has built up because of periods of high stress, ongoing anger or when traditional coping methods may be exhausted or ineffective. Learn multiple tools to put into practice immediately for both personal and professional benefit.
If you are looking for ways to defuse crisis in the workplace, this presentation hits the mark. Understanding that crisis provides both danger and an opportunity helps people stay calm while searching for the opportunity. Learn how to prevent, intervene, and afterwards process crises. Practice using defusing anger skills in negotiating differences will be provided.
Are you in need of skilled, experienced facilitators in your organization to facilitate courageous conversations around topics like race, sexuality, discrimination, equity and inclusion. We have the facilitators for you. We will create a safe environment for participants to share and discuss what they actually think and believe. The goal is for both sides to listen for understanding and find a solution that works for everyone.
Participants will appreciate their own unique contributions, as well as the unique contributions of others. They will recognize how their unique perceptions create the reality they experience. Safe, open, honest and respectful discussions will occur surrounding similarities, difference, challenges & privilege. Participants will acquire tools that will allow them to be even more effective and equitable in their personal and professional lives.
Doing What You Love and Loving What You Do
This workshop is for people who may have lost their passion for what they do, or have maybe never discovered their passion. Developed to boost morale during challenging economic times, this workshop helps people get in touch with the reasons they want to feel better about what they are doing right now, while developing a pathway to what they really want to be doing later. Disclaimer: You may lose some people after this workshop, but they will be the people who haven’t been engaged anyway.
Everyone Communicates, Few Connect
Participants will learn what could change in their lives if they develop as a better communicator. They will learn what effectiveness they could add to their lives, both personally and professionally, as a better communicator. By connecting better, you could make a greater impact in your relationships and in your career. The ability to connect with others is a major determining factor in reaching your full potential.
Focus & Balance during Crisis
When you encounter crisises, it is often labeled a crisis because you don’t know how to handle it. There is no playbook—no protocols or tried and true methods. This presentation provides a playbook for how to manage your life through difficult situations.
Goal Setting & Attainment
A half-day workshop. Discover Kim’s 7 step proprietary system for setting and attaining the important goals in your life. This system is not just about left-brain activities of making a schedule and following steps; it also interweaves right-brained activities that are creative and free. There is something for everyone.
Grief Perception & Balance
This presentation helps you look at grief from a different angle. Grief is not an inevitable part of life, but rather a behavior we engage in to help us deal with loss. Understand how grief helps. Learn to use perception to create a balance, so you are no longer held hostage by your grief.
Growth Mindset from Choice Theory® (CT) Perspective
In this presentation, we talk about Carol Dweck’s concept of mindset and explain that concept within a CT framework. People can get better at pretty much anything they want to with a strong enough commitment and willingness to invest time in the area they want to improve.
How to Balance Work, School & Life
Do you find that there is not enough time in the day? Do you feel like you are over-committed? This workshop, unfortunately, does not help you find more time in your day. We only get 24 hours in each day, but it does help you manage your priorities, so the most important things are done first.
